Is PreP Right
For Me?

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a safe and effective method that helps prevent HIV before exposure occurs. It is designed for individuals who may be at higher risk of contracting HIV, including:

  • People with a partner who is living with HIV

  • People who have multiple partners or engage in sexual activity that may increase their risk

  • People who share injection equipment or have other concerns about HIV exposure

To be eligible, you must be HIV negative before starting PrEP. Regular HIV testing is required while on PrEP to ensure it remains the right option for you.

If you are concerned about your HIV risk, PrEP may provide peace of mind and protection. Talk with our team to see if PrEP is a good fit for your health needs.

How Much Can I Receive?

When prescribed by a pharmacist, PrEP can be provided for up to 60 days within a 2-year period. This allows us to help you get started on HIV prevention quickly and safely.

After this initial supply, ongoing prescriptions and monitoring must be continued by a physician, nurse practitioner, or other qualified prescriber. We’ll help connect you with a healthcare provider for follow-up care to ensure you can continue PrEP without interruption.

Our goal is to make starting PrEP simple and accessible, giving you the protection you need right away, while supporting a smooth transition to long-term care.

What Are The Side Effects?

PrEP medications are generally well tolerated, and most people do not experience significant problems while taking them. However, some patients may notice side effects, especially when first starting treatment. These can include: Nauseaheadache, dizziness, upset stomach or other gastrointestinal changes, changes in cholesterol or lipid levels.

These effects may be temporary and often improve as your body adjusts to the medication.

This is not a complete list of possible side effects. If you experience any symptoms that concern you, or if side effects do not improve, speak with your pharmacist or healthcare provider. Regular follow-up and lab testing will help ensure PrEP remains a safe and effective option for you.
